“25 Years of Virgin Lands Development” table medal

Description

“A 25th Anniversary of the Virgin Lands Development” commemorative medal was awarded to Barayev. In honor of the heroism of the virgin land workers and in connection with the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the development of virgin and fallow lands, a commemorative medal was issued. The medal, with a diameter of 60 millimeters, is made in the shape of a circle from colored metal. On the obverse side, there is an image of a combine harvester in the field, with an elevator on the horizon, and an electricity transmission line crossing the transformed virgin land. Surrounding the medal is an inscription (“in honor of the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the development of virgin and fallow lands” along with the dates “1954-1979”). On the reverse side, the emblem of the USSR is depicted. It also quotes the words of Comrade L.I. Brezhnev: “The development of virgin and fallow lands is one of the brightest pages in the annals of the creative labor of the Soviet people.”
