Description
Used by the family of M. Tolebayev.
The torsyk is a traditional Kazakh container made from the whole hide of an animal. It features a narrow neck and a wooden stopper decorated with a “ram’s horn” (qoshqarmuiz) ornament. Designed for nomadic life, it was used to store and transport beverages such as kumis, shubat, or water. The exterior is adorned with national patterns, sometimes reflecting the social status of its owner.
