Fragment of a tablet

National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Inscription fragment. 2nd century BC - 4th century AD.
Rectangular in shape. The lower side sections are smooth and finished with a yellowish-brown slip. The front surface bears a three-line inscription consisting of twenty-two characters, incised into the raw clay prior to firing (some are only partially legible). The text is written in the ancient Aramaic alphabet.
