Water Pipe

Zhambyl Regional Historical and Local Lore Museum

A pipe created among ceramic artifacts. Made of clay. One end of the pipe is narrow, with a diameter of 2 cm. On the upper part of the pipe, 18 round holes are drilled in six rows. The narrow end is hammered. The clay composition is uniform, and the pipe is well-fired.

The pipe was discovered at a depth of 1 meter during excavations near the Lenin School on Kommunist Street in the city of Zhambyl.

This pipe may have been used either as a fountain or to filter water from debris.
