Description

1967. Commemorative medal “50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR” awarded to Nikolai Akimovich Sarantsev - a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
The medal is made of brass with a golden hue, shaped as a perfect circle with a diameter of 32 mm. On the front side of the medal, there is a five-pointed red enamel star. The star is set against a background of five bundles of rays emanating from the blunt corners of the star. In the center of the star, there is a circle with a diameter of 19 mm, on a matte background of which is a profile image of two soldiers of the Soviet Army in Budenovka and helmet. Along the edges of the circle are the commemorative dates: “1918” and “1968.” Material: brass, metal, silk moiré ribbon. Technique: stamping. Size: Diameter - 37 mm.
