Sarysu District Tokеn Makashev Historical and Local History Museum

The Sarysu District Tokеn Makashev Historical and Local History Museum was opened in 1978, on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Sarysu District. Initially, the museum was located in the building of the former district party committee.

In 1992, the museum was named after Tokеn Makashev, a distinguished citizen of the Sarysu District and a labor veteran.

In 1989, the museum was relocated to Building No. 2 on T. Ryskulov Street in the modern village of Saudakent. The total area of the museum is 327.5 square meters.

Today, the Sarysu District Tokеn Makashev Historical and Local History Museum serves visitors through the following exhibition halls: “Archaeology,” “Ykylas Dukenuly,” “Nature,” “The Post-Great Patriotic War Period,” “Ethnography,” and “Cultural Enlightenment and Art.”

The museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and showcasing the historical, ethnographic, and cultural heritage of the district. It organizes various events for district residents and visitors.

A museum is a place where time stands still, where the past connects with the present, and where inspiration for the future is born. Every exhibit has its own story, and our mission is to convey that story to the hearts of visitors. The work of the museum lies in preserving the memory of our culture and passing it on to future generations. We do more than just display artifacts - we open the door to a journey through history. A museum worker is an interpreter of history, a guardian of art, and a messenger of knowledge. The true value of our work is reflected in the wonder in visitors’ eyes and their eagerness for new discoveries. The museum is a treasury of our spiritual wealth, and we are the guardians of that treasure.
