In honor of the 110th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding statesman and public figure, three-time Hero of Socialist Labor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, Doctor of Technical Sciences Dinmukhamed Akhmetovich Kunayev, the D. A. Kunayev Center was opened in 2022 as a city branch of the Zhambyl Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.
The purpose of opening the D. A. Kunayev Center is to convey to the younger generation the life path, contribution to the development of the country, and good deeds of the outstanding statesman and public figure, leader of Soviet Kazakhstan, three-time Hero of Socialist Labor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, Doctor of Technical Sciences Dinmukhamed Akhmetovich Kunayev, as well as to promote his legacy.
The exposition of the D. A. Kunayev Center, corresponding to its content, is divided into 15 thematic sections, including: the genealogy of D. A. Kunayev; childhood and education of D. A. Kunayev (1912-1931); student years (1931-1936) and the beginning of his professional activity (1931-1942); D. A. Kunayev’s entry into political activity (1942-1960); the political portrait of D. A. Kunayev; a political map of cities and industrial facilities built during his period of activity; the period of service as First Secretary of the Central Committee of Kazakhstan; culture and arts; education and science; industry, agriculture, and architecture; the bust and sayings of D. A. Kunayev; a commemorative collage; an installation of D. A. Kunayev’s office; and exhibitions dedicated to domestic and foreign policy.
In order to widely promote the life path and merits of this great personality before the country and the people, the D. A. Kunayev Center regularly organizes and conducts large-scale cultural and educational events.
