The A. Ashimov Creative Center is a cultural institution dedicated to promoting the work of Aсанали Аshimuly, People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Hero of Labor of the RK, actor, and director. The center has been operating since 2011 as part of the Zhambyl Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, located in the city House of Culture.
The center’s exhibition consists of two halls:
Hall 1 features personal belongings and photographs of A. Ashimov, a model of his old house, notebooks, discs, photographs from films, items used on the theater stage, as well as his literary works. The exhibition includes notebooks in which the actor wrote scripts for performances, official documents, a globe marking countries he visited on official and unofficial trips, articles about him in print, and film reels from the 1980s-1990s.
Hall 2 contains portraits and sculptures of A. Ashimov, stage costumes worn in films and theater performances, and a chessboard reflecting his hobby of playing chess.
The center also showcases films and theater performances featuring the actor. It organizes creative evenings and master classes aimed at promoting A. Ashimov’s work, fostering a love for the arts among young people, and engaging students, schoolchildren, and their teachers in cultural and artistic activities.
