A genre-thematic composition executed in an expressive manner with pronounced post-impressionist features - a free, impasto brushstrokes and a priority of colour over subject detail. The narrative basis is a motif of wandering: people with pack animals moving through a blurred, unstable space. Human figures and silhouettes of the animals are densely interwoven in the lower part of the canvas, gradually dissolving into the light, hazy background above. Through painterly means and a contrasting palette, an effect of shimmering air is created - a state of liminality between reality and vision. Bottom right - signature and date.
