“Druzhba” Sovkhoz

Description

Author: Dzhunusov, Marat. 1947-1999
A winter landscape with a view of a village from an elevated point. The panorama includes a row of whitewashed single-storey houses with sloping, snow-covered roofs. In the foreground, among snowdrifts, are several domestic animals making their way along a snow-covered road. The sky is rendered in a soft gradation of pinkish-blue tones, blending smoothly into the horizon line. The coloring is maintained in a cool pastel palette, and the manner of execution is loose and study-like, with broad, generalized brushstrokes typical of plein-air painting. Bottom right - signature.
