Beside him is a suit of armour. To the left, above the water, is a white bird. The background features decorative horizontal bands of hills dotted with stylized shrubs, with a large orange-red solar disc hovering above the horizon. The composition uses flat forms, generalized silhouettes, and local areas of colour.
