Boule de Neige

Description

Author: Yevdaкov, Alexander. 1913-1943
A close-up study of a branch with large white flower clusters. The dense, broken texture of the impasto brushwork captures the volume and porous softness of the flower heads, while the dark green-brown background heightens the contrast with the pale, nearly monochrome blooms. Executed in the tradition of plein-air painting, the work displays a distinct emphasis on light, atmosphere, and the tactile quality of the paint application.
