Football Players

Description

Author: Zaitsev, Yury. 1884-1972
A genre scene depicting a football match on an open, dusty pitch. In the foreground, two players are captured in dynamic motion as they contend for the ball, their bodies rendered in dense, volumetric brushwork that emphasizes muscular tension and swift movement. In the middleground and background, the figures of other players are treated more broadly as silhouettes. The composition is set within a warm palette of ochre and orange tones, grounded by coal slag heaps and structures in the distance. Energetic and expressive, the painting centers entirely on conveying dynamic movement. At the lower right - signature and date.
