Bust-length portrait of Kazakh revolutionary and researcher Alibi Zhangeldin wearing a military tunic and a dark-banded peaked cap. His face, with grey-touched temples, is depicted with a trimmed mustache and distinct features. On the left chest pocket is the Order of the Red Banner. The background is rendered in a generalized, twilight grey-blue palette; dark vertical tree trunks are visible on the right. Executed in a realistic manner with confident, voluminous brushstrokes characteristic of Soviet-era portraiture. At the lower right - signature and date.
