A Stone wall

Description

Author: Nurmukhammedov, Nagimbek. 1924-1986
An architectural landscape built on the contrast between natural and architectural elements features a pinkish-gray stone wall occupying the right side, while trees wrapped in lush green foliage stand in the center and on the left, their sweeping silhouettes contrasting with the static architecture. Rising from the base of the wall on the right, a tree trunk connects the two parts of the composition. Rendered in an energetic manner with free, expressive brushwork, the work presents generalized forms. The palette rests on the contrast between the rich green and yellow-orange tones of the foliage and the cool pinkish-gray hues of the architectural setting. At the lower left – signature and date.
