Historical and Local Lore Museum of the Kegen District

In 1933-1934, in the private house of Zhandosov Oraz Kikymuly, the first secretary of the first district committee of Kegen, in 1987, the Historical and Ethnographic Museum was created. On January 25, 2011, by the resolution of the Akimat of the Almaty region No. 18, it was renamed the "Raimbek District Historical and Local History Museum". On June 8, 2011, according to decision No. 08-89, the ownership of the land plot was transferred to the Historical and Local History Museum. On August 22, 2014, a new building was commissioned on the site of the old museum building. Number of exhibits - 2249.

Name and description of the halls: Hall of regional nature - researchers of Zhetysu, a large exposition dedicated to the stages before the appearance of man, mammoth bones, stuffed animals and birds living in this area, photographs decorated with picturesque places of the area. Included are the hall of ancient and medieval history - the ancient Stone Age, the Neolithic era, a large exposition of the archaeologist Taimagambetov, reconstruction of the golden man, the creation of the Kazakh Khanate, expositions of heroes.

The hall of the history of the region in Soviet times is covered with large expositions dedicated to the leaders of the national liberation uprising, the Karakarin fair, the statesman and public figure O. Zhandosov, war veterans and front-line workers.

The number of visitors since the foundation of the museum is 17,611 people.
