Spring Wind

Description

Author: Frolova, Valentina. 1915-1990
A landscape capturing expansive spring fields beneath a high, cloud-filled sky. In the foreground, just beyond a green knoll, slender young trees bend beneath gusts of wind, imparting a sweeping directional rhythm to the composition. Stretching into the distance behind them are dark ribbons of plowed earth, punctuated by the faint silhouettes of seeders. The palette rests on a fresh balance of greens and earthy browns contrasted with the cool, icy blues, grays, and whites of the sky. At the lower right - signature.
