Portrait of the Milkmaid Ruzieva

Description

Author: Fedorova, Elena. 1926-1967
A knee-length portrait of a young dark-haired woman standing inside a dairy barn. She is depicted wearing a light blue short-sleeved dress and a white headscarf; in her lowered hand, she holds a mechanical milking unit, while a white lab coat is draped over her other arm. Her figure forms a luminous silhouette against a warm, ochre-brown interior filled with cows and barn equipment. The palette is soft and warm, built on a delicate balance of pale blue-and-white tones and rich ochre-browns. Fluid brushwork and soft color modeling combine precise portraiture with an evocative rendering of the atmosphere. At the lower right - signature.
