Flask

Description

A disc-shaped (round-flattened) vessel with a small cylindrical neck. Decorative convex medallions (umbons) are located in the central part of the front and back sides. Two massive loop-shaped ears are soldered to the shoulders of the vessel, through which a large-weave iron chain is passed, intended for transportation. The surface of the metal has traces of manual processing (characteristic irregularities from a hammer). The shape of the vessel was adapted for easy attachment to a horse’s saddle or for carrying it over the shoulder during long journeys.
