Kobda District Branch of the Aktobe Regional Museum of History and Local Lore
From 1999 to 2012, the Kobda District Branch of the Aktobe Regional Museum of History and Local Lore functioned as a Local History Department within the district centralized library system.
The department was officially opened on July 24, 1999, on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Kobda District, and began welcoming visitors from that date. The artistic and exhibition design was carried out by artists Tresbay Auezov and Gabiden Shokanov. Over the years, the department employed such specialists as Zhumasulu Mataeva, Zhanna Karagulova, Kamila Korpeshova, Gulbarshyn Ergalieva, and others.
On April 1, 2012, the Local History Department was incorporated into the Aktobe Regional Museum of History and Local Lore and continued its activities under the name “Kobda District Branch.”
The main areas of activity of the branch include the promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the Kobda District, the organization of various socio-cultural events, the implementation of spiritual, moral, and patriotic education initiatives, as well as ensuring the preservation of accumulated museum collections and archival materials.
At different times, the branch was headed by K. Korpeshova and K. Shakenov, who devoted their knowledge and professional experience to the development of the department. Currently, the position is honorably held by G. Ergalieva.
Today, the staff of the Kobda District Branch, including G. Ergalieva, Zh. Yegizbaeva, I. Aldabergenova, and other employees, continue to make a significant contribution to the development of museum activities. In particular, in 2013, the head of the museum, K. Korpeshova, was awarded the honorary badge “Mädeniyet salasynyñ üzdigi” (“Excellence in Culture”), and in 2022, at the festival of cultural and art workers and organizations “Rukhani Qazyna-2022,” G.
