House-Museum of Shafer

The museum was opened in 2001 on the basis of the personal collection of musical instruments of the professor, musicologist, composer Naum Grigorievich Shafer.

27,000 plates (including 2,000 from the shift stock) are a real "voice chronicle of history". It contains recordings of musical works of the end of the 19th and 20th centuries, voices of political figures, well-known artists and poets, music of many peoples. One of the real treasures of the collection are 14,000 gramophone and gramophone records, some of which are unique.

Gramophones, gramophones and vinyl records are presented in the phonotheque. The first gramophone records were recorded in 1898, and they were made by the company "Pate". It contains old Russian songs, church choral poems and the voices of famous leading opera singers of the time, Chaliapin, Sobinov, Nezhdanova and many others.

The collection includes gramophone records of the beginning of the twentieth century - the first recordings of world classics, works by Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Bach, Mozart, Handel, Chopin, Verdi, Mendelssohn.

All "speeds of the century" are represented in the plates. "Gramophone", "Sirena Records", "Parlaphone", "Colambia", "Zonophon", "His master's voice" that record sound that rotates at such delicate (breakable) speeds of 33, 45, 78 revolutions per minute, and some even at 90 revolutions per minute , "Melodia" and other companies' phonograph and vinyl records.

There are records of Kazakh folk tunes, Sh.Kaldayakov's songs, and the first Kazakh operas to the music of E.Brusilovsky and A.Zhubanov on the turntables. The Kazakh music section contains recordings of all songs performed by Kulyash Bayseyitova, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR, the first performer of Kazakh opera, as well as earlier recordings performed by Jamal Omarova and Roza Baglanova.

The kuytabak, published in 1935, with the tunes "Kenges" and "Balbyrauyn" performed by Kalambayev and Mukhitov, is a sign of the uniqueness of the Kazakh section. There are a total of 500 songs in the section of Kazakh music and performers.

Among them, there is a song written by Zhambyl Zhabaev, performed by opera singer S. Lemeshev, as well as performed by modern pop artists. The Kuitabakat collection includes recordings of opera singers Sergey Lemeshev, Fedor Shalyapin, pop singers Mark Burnes and Klavdiya Shulzhenko, bard Bulat Okudzhava and many others.
