Art Gallery
The Gallery of Fine Arts was opened in 2019 on the grounds of the Ancient Taraz historical and ethnocultural complex in honor of the 80th anniversary of Zhambyl Region. It has become one of the region’s new cultural initiatives in the field of visual arts. The purpose of creating this art center was to provide broad public access to contemporary visual art, promote the creative legacy of local and international artists, and foster artistic and aesthetic education among the youth.
The gallery building is designed in accordance with modern architectural standards, with a total area exceeding 3,000 square meters. The two-story complex houses a large exhibition hall of 600 square meters, the Bryummer Hall, a specialized tapestry storage facility, a laboratory, and a cloakroom for visitors on the first floor. This functional layout allows for large-scale exhibitions and the display of artworks in various genres and styles.
The grand opening of the gallery featured its first major exhibition titled "Visual Art of Kazakhstan", showcasing works by prominent painters - members of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan. The exhibition included outstanding pieces by masters such as Ömiräli Zhubaniyazov, Aidar Kazgulov, Serikzhan Alzhanov, Zhanat Kairambaev, Tolebek Kozhagulov, and Ömirbek Yesenbaev. Also on display were works by Union members originating from Zhambyl Region - Kanat Amankosov, Samat Azizov, Galina Tyan, Rustam Saparalieva, Kuanysh Temirkhan, Asan Nazarkul, Nikolai Denisov, and others. Special attention was drawn to the works of emerging young artists from the region, reflecting fresh creative explorations.
The gallery regularly hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions, solo exhibitions, children's drawing competitions, master classes, art therapy sessions, and art quests. This art center serves not only as a space for viewing artworks but also as an important hub for intercultural dialogue and creative collaboration.
The gallery’s mission is focused on the development of contemporary Kazakhstani visual art, wide representation of the national artistic school’s unique features, raising the professional level of art practitioners, and shaping the artistic taste of the younger generation.
