Historical and local history museum of Esil district
The Yesil District Museum of History and Local Lore holds an important place in the socio-cultural landscape of the North Kazakhstan region as a scientific and educational institution. The museum was founded on December 19, 1972, initially operating under the name Museum of Military and Labor Glory. Today, the museum occupies a total area of 210 square meters and includes seven exhibition halls. The exhibits presented here cover the historical development of the district from ancient times to the present, encompassing social, political, economic, and cultural processes. The historical artifacts displayed in the halls introduce visitors to the key stages and events in the history of the Yesil District, as well as the legacy of prominent individuals who made significant contributions to the region's development.
The museum conducts extensive research activities across various fields. These include the study of the origins of local settlements, the ethnographic characteristics of the region, folk culture and traditions, and major historical events that took place within the district. A special section of the museum’s collection is devoted to Heroes of the Soviet Union T.S. Pozolotin and G.Z. Zakirov, as well as war veterans I.A. Oshmarina and S.T. Belopukhov. These exhibitions are enriched by materials that recount the life stories and heroic deeds of local participants in the Great Patriotic War.
The museum systematically implements educational initiatives. In addition to guided tours, it organizes meetings with representatives of various social groups, roundtable discussions, exhibitions, and conferences. Special attention is given to patriotic education, including through cooperation with the district club Zemlyaki and the veterans' council. These efforts are aimed at fostering patriotism and a sense of historical identity among young people.
In recent years, the museum has undertaken major work to modernize its material and technical base. As part of the Roadmap program, the heating and lighting systems were upgraded, and modern equipment was purchased. These improvements have significantly enhanced the quality of the museum's scientific and exhibition activities.
The Yesil District Museum of History and Local Lore serves as a vital repository of regional history and a guardian of cultural and spiritual heritage. Its scientific, educational, and cultural mission plays a key role in promoting national history and culture.
