Museum of Fine Arts of the Turkestan Region

The Museum of Fine Arts of the Department of Culture of Turkistan Region is a cultural and educational institution that systematically collects, studies, promotes, and presents works of fine art to the public, including the creative heritage of local artists. The museum’s primary goal is to acquaint the wider public with both historical and contemporary achievements in the field of fine arts, to popularize the work of regional artists, introduce their works into academic circulation, and preserve cultural values for future generations.

The institution actively disseminates information about the development of fine arts in the region and the work of local artists. It organizes a wide range of exhibitions, guided tours, and educational events. The museum's exhibition and scholarly outreach activities play a significant role in shaping the artistic and aesthetic tastes of the population.

The history of the institution dates back to 2009, when it operated as an art gallery branch of the Regional Museum of History and Local Lore. Following a decision by the Akimat of Turkistan Region on November 20, 2014, the gallery gained independent status and was transformed into the public institution "Museum of Fine Arts." According to Resolution No. 74 dated March 19, 2015, the museum was reorganized into the State Public Treasury Enterprise "Museum of Fine Arts of the Department of Culture of Turkistan Region," thus acquiring its current status. The museum’s collection includes works from various genres of fine arts-painting, graphics, sculpture, and examples of decorative and applied art. Special attention is given to works by renowned regional artists, including members of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan and talented local masters. The museum regularly hosts solo and thematic exhibitions, master classes, and educational programs for schoolchildren and students.

Today, the Museum of Fine Arts is one of the key cultural centers of the region, contributing to the development of visual arts in Turkistan and promoting national culture through artistic expression.
