Temir District Museum

The Temir District Historical and Local History Museum is a cultural and educational institution located in the Temir District of the Aktobe Region. The museum is engaged in the systematic collection, preservation, and popularization of the historical, archaeological, and ethnographic heritage of the region. It was established in May 2004 in honor of International Museum Day and is housed on the second floor of the District House of Culture, occupying an area of 246.4 square meters. Currently, the museum features two main exhibition halls: the Archaeology and Ethnography Hall, and the Socio-Political and Economic History Hall. The museum's exhibitions are based on archaeological artifacts and material cultural monuments discovered in the Temir District. In addition, there are exhibits dedicated to traditional craftsmen, religious figures, local poets, writers, and artists.

The second hall contains information about the period of the Great Patriotic War, including commanders who originated from the district, citizens awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor, people's deputies, scholars, and statesmen. It also presents scientifically systematized information on the history of the town of Temir, the activities of the Krakamyss Fair, the development stages of education and healthcare, the history of the district newspaper Temir, and the formation and significance of the railway and oil industries.

The museum’s exhibitions are designed in accordance with modern standards and are equipped with new display cases and stands. Interactive tours and educational events allow visitors to gain a deeper understanding of history. Today, the museum’s collection contains over 4,000 artifacts. Annually, the museum welcomes approximately six thousand visitors.

The Temir District Historical and Local History Museum continues to fulfill its mission effectively as an important institution for preserving the region’s historical memory, strengthening generational continuity, and promoting cultural heritage.
