Description
Double ladle (ozhau) is one of the traditional items of Kazakh household culture, mainly used for pouring kumys (fermented mare’s milk).
The ozhau is mostly made of wood and has a long handle with two scooping bowls. At the lower part, there are two round hollowed sections placed side by side. This design allows a larger amount of kumys to be scooped at once.
The handle is long and thin, and a strap is attached at the upper end for hanging. This made it convenient to store the item on a wall or in a designated storage area for utensils.
