Description
Body: the main part of the iron is cast from cast iron and has a triangular shape with a pointed front end. The body is hollow - it was filled with burning charcoal (embers) for heating.
At the lower part of both sides there are semi-circular ventilation openings (air inlets). These openings ensure airflow so the coals do not go out and continue to burn for a long time due to draft.
The upper part of the iron is covered with a hinged cast-iron lid. The edges of the movable lid are decorated with a wavy serrated ornament, which helps direct hot gases outward. At the rear pointed part there is a small screw or hook-type latch used to secure and open the lid.
A long handle is mounted on top of the lid, raised above the body by two metal supports. The middle part of the handle is made of wood to protect hands from heat and for comfortable gripping. The wooden grip is ergonomically shaped for holding with fingers.
