Tomaga
Описание
Tomaga–a traditional leather hood used in falconry to cover the head and eyes of a bird of prey such as an eagle, falcon, or hawk. Its main function is to keep the bird calm and focused by limiting its vision until it is released for hunting.
This particular tomaga is made of leather, with identical pieces of green leather sewn on both sides near the ears. A decorative tassel is attached to the top. At the back, it has straps for tying securely around the bird’s head.
Dating: 20st century.
