Coin of the Turgesh Khaganate

Description

The edge of the coin has a rounded rim. There is also a rim around the central hole. The obverse features a circular Sogdian legend, executed in italics, counterclockwise. The legend consists of 4 words “Вүйіу твыркыс үйдійд пны” “Lord of Turgesh khan”. The reverse side features the symbol of the Turgesh, inscribed within the field of the coin between a thick-lined rim and a square hole; the square hole is highlighted with a rhombus as part of the symbol.
