Description

“50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR.” Diameter - 37 cm. The medal is made of gold-colored brass and has a round shape. On the obverse, there is a red enamel five-pointed star. In the center of the star are bust portraits of two soldiers of the Soviet Army. The commemorative dates “1918” and “1968” are inscribed along the edges of the circle. A wreath of laurel and oak leaves is depicted around the star. On the reverse, a five-pointed star is depicted at the top, with a hammer and sickle in its center. Below the star is the inscription: “FIFTY YEARS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE USSR.” All inscriptions and images are rendered in relief.
