Description

A graver (graving tool / burin) is a primary hand tool designed for engraving images or inscriptions onto the surface of materials such as metal (copper, steel, brass), wood (woodcut), bone, stone, and dense leather. It is widely used in jewelry making, printmaking, and preparing printing plates for graphics. This exhibit is a valuable artifact illustrating the history of traditional professional tools used by master engravers and decorative artists. It belonged to the artist Isatay Isabayev.
