Shashbau

Description

Shashbau is a traditional women’s hair ornament. It consists of hook-shaped elements designed to attach to a long braid. The decoration includes four silver coins: two Russian coins from the years 1813 and 1814, and two Arab coins from the 19th century. The coins are connected in three rows by means of two-row chains in rectangular shape. Loops in round and floral shapes are attached to the chains.
