Medal “50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR” - awarded to Tysyachny I.S.
The medal is circular in shape, with a bordered rim. All inscriptions and images on the medal are raised. The medal is attached by a loop and ring to a pentagonal mount covered with a turquoise silk moiré ribbon. A longitudinal white stripe runs down the center of the ribbon, flanked by red and white stripes on both sides. On the obverse, there is a five-pointed star covered with red enamel. In the center of the star, inside a circle, is a profile depiction of two Soviet Army soldiers wearing a Budyonovka and a helmet. Around the circle are the jubilee dates: “1918” and “1968.” Surrounding the star is a wreath of laurel and oak branches. On the reverse, at the top, there is a five-pointed star; in the center, a hammer and plough. Below the star is the inscription: “FIFTY YEARS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE USSR.” The back of the mount has a pin-type clasp.
