Medal “Thirtieth Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”

Description

M. S. Matrosov’s Medal “30 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”. The medal is round-shaped. On its front, there is a relief image of E.V. Vuchetich’s “Motherland Calls” statue amidst the festive fireworks. To the left of the statue, a pentagon star and the date “1945-1975” is depicted on a branch of laurel that descends. On the upper part of the back side of the medal, the words “Participant of the War” are written in a circle, with “XXX years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945” in the center, and at the bottom, a relief image of a hammer and sickle on a ribbon. The edges of the medal are framed. The medal is attached to a five-pointed star covered with a silk moiré band that has alternating long stripes of black, orange, red, and green through the ears and rings. The edges of the ribbon are trimmed with narrow orange stripes. On the back of the star, there is a pin-like hook.
