Medal for Developing Virgin Lands

Description

M.M. Berezin’s Medal “For the Virgin Lands Campaign”. The medal is round in shape and is edged with relief on both sides. The front side of the medal features a bas-relief image of a sickle and a combine harvesting against the background of an elevator and wheat fields. At the bottom of the medal, the words «ЗА ОСВОЕНИЕ ЦЕЛИННЫХ ЗЕМЕЛЬ» are written in three raised lines. On the back side, there is a bas-relief image of a sickle and a hammer against the background of the sun, surrounded by wheat grains and corn stalks, with a five-pointed star at the top. The medal is mounted on a pentagonal metal stick, wrapped with silk moire ribbon. The ribbon of the medal is dark green, decorated with yellow perimeter edges. At the back is a hook for attaching the ribbon.
