Mat

Description

Mat - a traditional Kazakh decorative and household item used as a soft floor mat. The exhibit is rectangular in shape. The front surface is covered with black fabric and filled with pure natural wool.
The front surface is decorated with national ornamental motifs embroidered with bright pink, red, yellow, and blue threads. The central part features a four-petaled floral motif surrounded by a composition of wavy and spiral-shaped vegetal patterns. The ornaments are arranged symmetrically, emphasizing the decorative character of the item. Small pink vegetal motifs are placed in each of the four corners.
The edges of the mat are trimmed with multicolored decorative braid, while the outer edge is finished with a ruffled trim in red and pink.
