Whip

Description

Kamchy (whip) - a traditional Kazakh horse-riding accessory made of leather and braided rawhide strips, used for controlling a horse as well as serving as a decorative element of national culture.
The exhibit is a personal item belonging to the writer and playwright Tañirbergen Qalilakhanov. The item has a handle covered with black leather, made in a compact and durable form. The upper part of the handle is decorated with decorative braided leather elements and thin leather strips. The braiding is выполнed using a four-strip leather braiding technique.
The braided part of the whip gradually narrows and continues into flexible leather straps. A braided loop strap is attached to the lower part of the handle, intended for wearing the whip on the hand or wrist. Natural signs of wear are preserved on some parts of the item, indicating its long-term use.
