Bayan

Description

Musical instrument - bayan (button accordion). It belonged to the well-known researcher of the Zhetysu region, writer, playwright, ethnographer, journalist, and veteran of war and labor Tәңірберген Қалилаханов.
The bayan is a keyboard reed musical instrument. Its body is made in brown color, with side panels crafted from durable material. The right side contains keys for playing melodies, while the left side has buttons for accompaniment. The central part consists of a folded bellows. The outer surface is decorated with simple ornamental elements, and the metal parts and fasteners have been preserved. The instrument’s construction is based on a reed mechanism, where sound is produced by the movement of air.
The bayan is one of the widely used musical instruments performed solo, as part of ensembles, and in orchestras.
