Description

This is a traditional Kazakh bridal headdress known as saukele, intended for young women preparing for marriage. The artifact is a tall, conical headdress made primarily of deep red velvet. Its exterior is richly decorated with white and multicolored beads, ornamental appliqués, and inserts imitating precious stones. The lower edge of the headdress is trimmed with fox fur, giving it a festive and elegant appearance. A traditional decorative element known as shekelik is attached to the front, emphasizing the ceremonial character of the saukele.
