Description
Kazakh national stringed bowed musical instrument. One of the oldest musical instruments. The kobyz is made of a single piece of brown wood. It has a double bucket-shaped body with an outlet at the bottom, a short neck, and a large flat head. Two strings are made of horsehair (kyl) and stretched along the entire length of the body. They play it with a bow.

Condition
The wooden case is slightly worn and darkened by time. The surface has signs of aging: scuffs, small cracks and uneven varnish. Neck and head: The neck looks intact, but there is a darkening and, possibly, a slight layering of the varnish. The head with the ornament is in good condition, although with scuffs.
