Description
Zherdi (Uyk) is a wooden structural element that connects the kerege (lattice wall) to the shanyrak (roof ring) and forms the dome of the yurt. The presented artifact is made from flexible and durable willow wood, specially bent into shape. Its long, pointed end is inserted into a special opening in the shanyrak, while the rope at the lower end is used to securely fasten it to the upper part of the kerege. The uyk supports the shanyrak and forms a strong, unified framework of the yurt.
