Description

The dombra is a traditional Kazakh two-stringed plucked musical instrument. Its body has a characteristic pear-shaped form and is made of wood. A small rhombic or star-shaped sound opening is located on the soundboard, with a string bridge positioned in the lower part of the body. The long, narrow neck is fitted with tied frets and terminates in a shaped pegbox. White bird feathers are attached to the upper part of the pegbox as decorative elements. The object is in good condition and represents traditional Kazakh musical culture and artisanal instrument-making practices.
