Description
The sazsyrai is a traditional Kazakh whistle-type wind instrument used by A. Zhylgeldiyev. The instrument has a characteristic rounded, egg-shaped body with three finger holes on its sides for altering the pitch. Its light yellowish color corresponds to the natural tone of fired clay. The central section is decorated with brown painted ornamentation, while the edges feature patterned decorative elements. The object is of ethnographic and cultural significance as an example of traditional Kazakh musical culture and the use of handcrafted wind instruments in musical practice. The clay body and painted decoration are preserved in good condition.
